Prayer, Partnership and Precious Participation – 10th September 2024

As we arrived in Entebbe Airport, the familiar sights sounds and smells reminded me of how much of a second home Uganda has become. Precious friendships, which have been built over a number of years have led to strong partnerships, and a clear purpose for me in mission and ministry.

It was so good after such a long journey to be greeted by the warm and friendly Jude. We had begun our dream of sharing ministry together back in 2017, and now 7 years on there is a deep level of trust and partnership and as well as a budding friendship. I am so thankful to the Lord for the people He has brought into my life and as I count my blessings, Jude is definitely one of them.

As we arrived at “Papaya”, It was wonderful to be greeted by Rev Peter Mugabi, warmly known as Bishop along with Pricilla and Jubilee, two of his children and also Rev Richard Tumwesigye and Immelda, Pastors at Freedom Christian Centre. We enjoyed catching up, sharing food and praying together. Juliet, our Ugandan daughter arrived from Kamuli to join the team for the mission a little later. We are all so looking forward to serving together on mission in the coming days.

We were overjoyed as we engaged with the people and it was so good to see people respond to the gospel and begin a new life. We were able to join with Pastor Richard and Immelda to celebrate this. As we shared stories and testimonies today the Holy Spirit moved in Power and we have certainly seen transformation

Tues 9th August 2022 Planes, Prayer and Precious Partners

As a team we met as team at Manchester Airport 4 hours before the plane departed. Anne, James, Joseph and myself appreciated been dropped off by family. We had an excellent journey, which seemed to go so quickly despite  the 4 hour wait at Doha. We were able to share together our recent experiences of preparing for the trip including our recent experience of trawling the country for a yellow fever vacination for Joseph (which he needs to get into the country  and also our hopes and dreams for the next two weeks with our precious partners.

We arrived safely at Entebbe, collected out luggage and was greeted by the lovely Walubo Jude. As we drove to the hotel,  the boys drifted in and out of sleep while we caught up on recent happenings. The friendship with Jude is rich and we certainly are in safe hands. What a joy it is to return with Joseph who is experiencing Uganda for the first time and with James who is returning after 3 years. We certainly feel welcome back to Uganda, the pearl of Africa where some precious friends are living and ministering.

We soon arrived at Hotel Namirembe (house of peace) and had the privelege of Pastor Peter and Rose Mugabi join us for a meal. What joy to share together over food. Though shattered, our hearts were surely full when our heads hit the pillow. I can’t wait  for the missional adventure that awaits us.

4th March – Here are some of Africa’s wildest inhabitants that we met on our 10 hour journey back to Mission HQ.

Having had a wonderful time in Rukunjiri with the team, we spent Saturday travelling back to Kampala. We also had the opportunoty to take in the beauty of Lake Mburu on the way. Wow!.

Mon 28th Incredible and significant day meeting togeher at PDN.

Today was such a blessing as we as a team met with  Dr Richmond Wandera, and Ben Mutegeki,  at Pastors Discipleship Network. It was so good to see them again. As we shared and prayed together, it was clear that we shared the same heart to equip and enable others to share the good news of Jesus. We agreed to partner which was so exciting. We discussed our visit in August and agreed to work on a plan to organise a young Pastor’s conference to be held at PDN. Anne spoke about Created to Soar and I spoke about giving Hope. We were invited to preach next Sunday at Dr Richmond’s church and are so excited about the way forward under the direction of the Holy Spirit. Jesus reigns!!!!

Sat 26 – Sun 27th The Amazing Murchison Falls.

Today we rose very early and travelled to Murshison Falls to spend some time together taking in the spectacular scenes and beauty contained within Murcbison Falls National Park. Simply breathtaking! To consider the beauty of God’s creation and take in the fantastic waterfall, was something the team will never forget. These are known as the most powerful faĺls in the World. We had an amazing time and weee in awe of the majesty of our creator and Savioue Jesus.

Fri 25th Feb – Fantastic day at FACT,  and wonderful food and fellowship with Pastor Peter & Rose home.

Today we had the priviledge of spending precious time with Paul and the children at FACT.  As we arrived it was great to see the children having their breakfast. As we visited each class, we were greated by an excellent syncronised welcome and had so much fun singing some action somgs led by Pastor Peter & myself. Paul gathered the school together under the mango tree and we had the delight of giving some blankets and  a number of story bibles donated by friends to Jehovah Jira school. We also presented Paul and Pastor Rose and Peter with a NLT bible.                      We then met with the  owners of the land around near FACT  to see when this would viable to for them to have a more permenant home. After some discussion with the excellent support and wisdom of Pastor Peter and Rose, it was clear we needed to keep searching more and consider and pray for direction. We then stopped off for some local food together as team in Jinja, before being invited to Peter and Rose’ home to pray and have a cup of tea. On the way, we picked up Peace and Sarah, two of their many children they support. When we arrived, we were able to see the wonderful developmenta both to their home and their land which they are using to both support the family and a number of others too. Their life is surely a blessing and it was an honour to spend some time with them. We were able to see the pigs, chickens and pick some tomatoes together before sharing a time of prayer and cup of tea. What an awesome family, blessing and time together. Our hearts are surely full.
